Textile Technician (NT)
Education and Training:
To become a textile technician you usually have to complete an apprenticeship or traineeship in Textile Production or Textile Technology and Production. Entry requirements may vary but employers usually require Year 10. Ask your career adviser about the possibility of starting some of this training in school.

Employment Opportunities:
Textile technicians may work in production areas of textile factories and in laboratories. Textile technicians are employed by manufacturers of floor coverings, clothing, soft furnishings, basic fabrics and specialised textiles. With experience, and sometimes further training, it is possible to become a dye house supervisor, senior laboratory technician or production manager.
