Gaming Worker (NSW/ACT)

Education and Training:

You can work as a gaming worker without formal qualifications, but employers usually require at least Year 10. You will probably get some informal training on the job.

You can also become a gaming worker through a traineeship in Hospitality. Entry requirements may vary but employers usually require Year 10. Ask your career adviser about the possibility of starting some of this training in school.

Additional Information:

People working in the gaming area may be required to be licensed. Licensing requirements may include a police check, credit references and fingerprinting. You must also complete a Responsible Conduct of Gambling Certificate, which may either be incorporated into staff training or have to be completed separately.

Employment Opportunities:

Trainee croupiers are instructed in gaming rules, and basic chipping and shuffling skills. Successful applicants are chosen by a combination of their application, interview and aptitude test performance.
