A real estate property manager manages rental properties on behalf of the owners by, drawing up leases, handling finances and maintenance, advertising vacant premises, arranging property inspections, and choosing suitable tenants in consultation with the property owner.

Real estate salespeople often work irregular hours, including weekends. This occupation involves a great deal of contact with the public and with associated professionals, such as builders, solicitors, conveyancers, and banking and local government personnel.
